IE University Publishing's immersive simulation continues to garner recognition for its innovation and educational quality
We are pleased to announce that "Eye in the Storm: Your Role in Climate Change Action," an innovative immersive simulation by IE University Publishing, has won the prestigious MERIT Awards in Innovation in Higher Education and Learning. This recognition underscores IE University's commitment to educational excellence and leadership in incorporating new technologies and pedagogical methodologies.
This simulation is a transformative experience that, through virtual reality, places students at the epicenter of a climate crisis, after which participants take on critical roles in environmental management. One aspect that makes this educational material unique is the masterful combination of technology with emotional connection to educate on a topic of current significant relevance.
Since 2017, MERIT has provided a unique forum for HR and L&D directors from international companies across different industries and leaders in executive education. This year, the summit and awards ceremony were held in Milan, aiming to reward impactful transformative initiatives.
This award adds to other prestigious recognitions that "Eye in the Storm" has previously received. Among them are:
- Winner of the Financial Times: Responsible Business Education 2023 award
- Finalist for the QS Reimagine Education 2023 awards in the category of Sustainability Education
These recognitions are a testament to the efforts made by IE University Publishing to offer cutting-edge educational resources that respond to the changing needs of society. We are proud of this achievement and committed to continuing innovation in higher education, providing tools that not only educate but also inspire students to take meaningful actions for a sustainable future.
We thank everyone who has contributed to the success of "Eye in the Storm," especially its authors Isabela del Alcázar (Global Head of Sustainability at IE University) and Gonzalo Delacámara (Director of the IE Centre of Water & Climate Adaptation Resources) for making a difference in the inclusion of sustainability in education. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
