"Eye in the Storm: Your Role in Climate Change Action" and "Facing New Challenges in Space & Cyber Affairs: SpaceGov" have been internationally recognized for their forward-looking and revolutionary pedagogical approach
The Reimagine Education Awards, known as the "Oscars" of education, have been acknowledging innovation in the global educational community for a decade. These awards are presented at the Reimagine Education Conference, bringing together key stakeholders shaping the future of education, including university leaders, professors, educators, innovators, investors, startups, employers, and policymakers.
The awards aim to showcase the most innovative approaches that enhance learning outcomes and the employability of future students, always through sustainability and values.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that two interactive materials from IE University Publishing have been selected as finalists in this prestigious competition:
Eye in the Storm: Your Role in Climate Change Action – Finalist in the Sustainability Education category.
This interactive material, consisting of three parts, has been awarded for its original approach to addressing climate change and connecting with this issue. Through virtual reality, it immerses students in an emotional and impactful experience in the middle of a hurricane, that prepares them for a multimedia role-play where they will act as one of the five key agents in the conversation around climate change. Both experiences finish with a classroom debate that stimulates conversation about action against climate change.
Facing New Challenges in Space & Cyber Affairs: SpaceGov – Finalist in the E-Learning category.
It is a multiplayer simulator where students work in teams to replicate how different countries develop strategies and make decisions on global governance. Through this material, they learn firsthand how to manage multiple collective action problems related to space and cyber affairs, realizing that collaboration is better than competition, even though the game's goal is to maximize their country's power.
Strategy, negotiation, decision-making, and sustainability are some of the key topics of this interactive material, which aims to illustrate the complexity of human interaction and provide students with the opportunity to engage in the cooperative/competitive nature of social processes.
We take pride in having two of our projects selected by the prestigious international jury of QS Reimagine Education from more than 1,200 annual submissions. This recognition is the result of our effort to transform education and create impact through innovation.
We especially want to express our gratitude and congratulate the Professors, authors of these materials: Isabela del Alcázar, Gonzalo Delacámara, and Andrew Bertoli respectively.
