Interactive case study that analyses the strategy used by Microsoft to enter the video game industry by launching a new games console: XBox.
Based on an overview of the video game industry, students analyse how the company decided to diversify, what is a diversified corporate strategy and how the various product divisions are organised. There is a corporate video from the manager of Microsoft Ibérica and videos from the head of a leisure software/hardware sales franchise talking about the characteristics of the games console industry, sales, etc.
