Description

The Barrio Olímpico in Buenos Aires is a young neighborhood located in a complex area, encompassing expensive sports infrastructure, housing from the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, nearly 25 hectares of undeveloped land, and several public green spaces. While there is already quality and affordable housing, there is potential to build more units and attract more residents to the area. This growth, however, depends on ensuring other essential aspects of urban life, such as access to green and public spaces, a good transportation system, connectivity, leisure, and community activities, local grocery shopping options, and proximity to health and education services, as well as attracting developers.

To successfully complete and make this a successful regeneration project, new agreements among societal stakeholders need to be made to advance a comprehensive plan. These include real estate developers, government agencies, neighbors, and the private sector linked to the area's economic development.
