    This multimedia case has been developed as an interactive single-player simulation. It presents a real life situation of how to use market research in a business context; in the specific case of revenue growth through an increase in consumption. The case covers all the steps within market research; secondary data analysis, the actual design of the market research, and the development of the marketing plan. The case is closely based around a consumer goods giant, however the details of the company have been disguised.

    Through an interactive interface students will review the market research methodologies, analyze key qualitative insights and quantitative data; and more importantly experience first-hand the decision making process behind market research. All this under the intriguing framework of developing the Fabric Softener category in a number of developing countries (Mexico, Russia, Poland, Hungary, and The Philippines, among others).

    By working through this case study, students will learn about market research and at the same time have the opportunity to put into practice their knowledge. They will understand how to use the information obtained from the research to guide investment choices, both in terms of selection of countries as well as specific marketing and promotional activities.

    This simulation can be used as part of a marketing fundamentals course or in a more specialized market research course. It can be used in master programs such as MBA, Master in Management, Master in Marketing Research or degree/university level courses with students that have some previous knowledge in marketing issues and marketing research tools and methodologies. It can also be used in executive education programs.

This technical note teaches students a practical framework that can be used for preventing issues that alter operations as well as to prevent or limit the impact of those issues that have already occurred on critical operations with the objective of reducing the risk of loss of business reputation or even closure.

    This technical note includes a framework for designing a Business Continuity Plan which can be used across all sectors and industries. The framework consists of five phases: Analysis Strategy Implementation Testing and Validation and finally Continual Maintenance. Each of these phases are explained in a practical manner and include the experiences of experts about how they designed the plan for in their company as well as the most critical factors that an organization must respond to for the correct management of issues.

With this information Vocento was able to make business decisions that have positioned the company as a leader in the field of online communication. The multimedia case separates the analysis of this experience into five stages from the initial detection of the problem through to finding a solution and measuring the impact on the business.

    This interactive case was developed so students learn and put into practice their knowledge of developing a business strategy and sales plan. The case presents two interactive exercises which simulate students’ proposed business strategy for facing the commercial challenges the Spanish company Novartis faced in 2008.

    The first exercise corresponds to the launch of Exforge in Spain and the second exercise to the launch of Rasilez, Galvus y Eucreas. In both exercises, the student should plan his/her business strategy for these new products as well as those that already existed on the market. At the end of the exercise, the student will obtain numerical results and graphs of the obtained sales, profitability of the strategy, Share of Voice among others.

    Interactive technical note comprising a quiz and an exercise focusing on analyzing the ratios once they have been calculated.

    Using the hotel industry in general and the company NH in particular, students learn how to handle the basic ratios and perform a financial analysis. The exercises are self-corrected: the quiz is a web form and the final questionnaire is an Excel page which the students have to complete and then make a comparison with the competitor Sol Meliá.

    Furthermore, the case includes a glossary with definitions and formulas, a pyramid that classifies the ratios used, and a series of specific ratios used on this particular industry.

    Multimedia exercises about recruitment based on competence and behavioral patterns. Three different exercises, each one with two different versions: for a business environment or a survival expedition.

    In the first exercise, the student is presented with a series of possible interview questions and has to decide which of these questions are useful or not for predicting the candidates' future behavior.

    In the second exercise, the student will view videos of candidates answering interview questions. The student must then classify these answers according to the S.A.R. technique.

    In the third exercise, the student will view four candidates being interviewed for their competence for a job. The student must determine each candidate’s level of competence so that he or she can later compare that with the actual level of suitability of each for the post.

    This interactive multimedia case describes the story of the redundancy process carried out by the architectural studio, Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, at the beginning of 2009. The case focuses on how this important studio, which was well-known for having a closely knit, employee-orientated culture, managed this process. The case begins with an introduction to the studio before moving on to hear the reasons of the partners for having to make redundancies. The final section of the case includes an interactive exercise in which students must make recommendations about how the company should manage the process. A dedicated professor's page, which can be shown in class, analyzes the results of the student exercise and also includes a full reaction to the process through various video interviews with employees.

    This case lies within the field of Human Resources Management and is fit to be used in such courses across all kinds of postgraduate programs. To date, it has been used successfully in MBA, Executive MBA, Executive Education courses and other management programs.
