    The case is separated into three main areas: an in-depth country analysis detailing key economic indicators and their progress an interactive timeline charting the history of the U.S. and a simulator which aids in the discussion of the effects of the U.S. economy on the rest of the world.

El alumno debe asumir el rol del abogado de los propietarios del restaurante y, por medio de un buscador interactivo, puede encontrar información referente al caso, guardarla, compartirla con su grupo de trabajo y descargarla, para elaborar una propuesta contractual que solucione el problema presentado.

    El profesor puede controlar el progreso de los alumnos a través de una pantalla diseñada para ser proyectada en el aula, en la que pueden verse las búsquedas realizadas así como el porcentaje de búsquedas totales de cada equipo. También tiene acceso a toda la documentación del caso, así como a la información completa del mismo. El profesor tiene a un solo clic todos los materiales que precisa para generar un buen debate en el aula.

    In this practical case the student assumes the role of Finance Manager of the Turrones del Mediterráneo company. Students will work through the three parts by completing the following tasks: the monthly forecasts of the profit and loss account and the balance sheet the analysis of the working capital and the preparation of the cash budget. The three parts of this multimedia documentation can be studied individually or together in sequence. Each section contains downloadable Excel files with templates.

  8. The creation and development of the brand Aquarius MK1-160-I-M

    This multimedia case shows the complete process of brand creation, construction and management. Comprised of the steps that must be taken in the process, tools and strategies for communication, and the types of decisions that must be faced when managing a brand, students will learn a model that can later be used in other markets and sectors or with other products, as well as understand key factors of the creative process and the search for efficient solutions for communication-based business problems. 

    Various videos with people who actively participated in the creation of the Aquarius brand are included, such as Marcos de Quintos, Chief Marketing Officer for The Coca-Cola Company, and Miguel García, Creative Director of Sra. Rushmore. It also includes several graphs in which students can analyze market tendencies, competition in the sector, or the rise in non-carbonated beverages in the Spanish market. This data is available in an Excel spreadsheet which the student can download and use to carry out a study.

    At the end of the case, several dilemmas which Aquarius faces are brought up, requiring the student to consider different strategies in order to resolve the future challenges Aquarius will be faced with.

    The case is recommended for students of degrees and master programs (MBA, MIM, Executive MBA) in marketing and communications sessions and as a basis for a work during the course. It can be used in courses directly related to brand management, commercial communication, integrated communication, communication strategy and creativity.

  9. La batalla por Cortefiel DF1-107-M

    This multimedia case presents the leveraged acquisition of the Spanish textile group Cortefiel. This acquisition is made by a capital risk fund that has developed a business plan that will attempt to create value through Cortefiel’s operations and this fund. At one point the operation is blocked due to other capital risk funds which are also interested in the group. Students have to analyze the business plan and decide whether or not to increase the price offered.

    The case presents information about the Group and includes interviews with sector experts that participated in the operation. The last part lets students numerically solve the case carrying out all the sections of the business plan and analyzing if the price that they are paying for the stock should be increased or not.

    This case study targets postgraduate students who study the subject of Financial Management II, on the subject of leveraged acquisitions. Likewise, the case can be delivered in corporate finance or valuation seminars.
