  2. Viajes Nobel 2007: En busca del futuro DE1-176

Viajes Nobel had a spectacular growth in the last few years, even after the debacle of September 11. However, in 2007 and after 23 years in business, they faced a new crossroads about the future of their growth. The partners, siblings Roberto and Antonio, couldn’t reach an agreement over topics such as the use of internet, whether or not to diversify and enter the inbound business by organizing local trips in Spain for foreigners and even about the desirable rate of growth, because they didn’t agree how this could affect their exclusivity and tailor-made trips identity.

It was necessary to clarify priorities and define a common project in which everyone felt comfortable. But where should they start?

  9. THE SUN ALSO SETS DE1-178-I

In the summer of 2009, twenty-three-year-old Pere Guerra, a brilliant student with a passion for computers and technology, was studying engineering at Harvard during his year of study abroad. Back home in Spain, his brother Esteve, who was four years older, and preferred playing tennis and talking soccer to video games, was busy running the brothers’ entrepreneurial venture. Together with their partners Joatham Grange and Mateu Nierga, Pere and Esteve were the impossibly young owners of Enerside, a multimillion-euro photovoltaic start-up in the midst of Spain’s renewable energy craze. Thanks to the brothers’ business acumen and very favorable government subsidies, the company was growing fast and had just secured a massive contract: a 9.4-million euro solar panel installation on the rooftops of a beer storage facility owned by Damm, Barcelona’s leading brewery. This included an extension option that could bring the contract’s total value to 50 million euros.
